Nicki Minaj: ‘Channing Tatum Is Sexy As Hell’

Week after week, Nicki Minaj judges singing hopefuls on “American Idol,” but with the 2013 MTV Movie Awards only days away, we wanted her to judge something else: the beefy hotness of the fellas up for Best Shirtless Performance on Sunday night.

Even with the tantalizing talents of Taylor Lautner (“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2”), Daniel Craig (“Skyfall”), Channing Tatum (“Magic Mike”), Christian Bale (“The Dark Knight Rises”) and Ted (“Ted”) up for the prize, Minaj seemed pretty dead-set on who she’s hoping takes home a Golden Popcorn when the show goes live from Culver City, California, at 9 p.m. Sunday.

“Channing Tatum is sexy as hell,” she told MTV News, quite enthusiastically. “Taylor [Lautner] might [have] the best abs, but Channing, overall, is something sexy, honey.”

Believe it or not, “This Is the End” star Seth Rogen also gave props to Magic Mike’s killer six-pack, pondering its greatness. “What is that muscle? I’ve literally never seen that muscle,” he joked. “I would vote for Channing, honestly,” he said. “I mean, that’s crazy that he looks like that.”

However, there’s one woman who felt that Batman’s enemy, Bane, deserved some love, offering up her support to the snubbed Tom Hardy. “I’m pretty pissed off that Christian Bale is nominated for ‘Dark Knight Rises’ and not Tom Hardy,” “Snooki & JWoww” star JWoww told MTV. “Even though Tom was not completely shirtless, he was still hotter in his Bane sexy outfit.”

As for Rogen’s take on Batman’s shirtless hotness, he added, “Compared to Channing? Jesus. Come on.”

See for yourself who takes home shirtless honors Sunday night at 9 p.m. at the MTV Movie Awards.

Nicki Minaj On New Music And ‘American Idol’

Nicki Minaj, the rapper who has had much success on the pop charts with songs like “Starships” and “Super Bass,” says the rerelease of her sophomore album will be nostalgic for her early fans.

“The feel of the rerelease is kind of like my first sound, like the mixtapes,” she said of “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded — The Re-Up.” .

The rerelease comes seven months after “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. That album features pop, dance, R&B, reggae and rap sounds. It’s a far stretch from when Minaj kicked off her career as a sexed-up street rapper, signed by Lil Wayne in 2009 after she released three buzzed-about mixtapes. Her official debut, “Pink Friday,” is near double platinum and was nominated for a Grammy Award.

But the 29-year-old says she’s “back to basics” on her eight-track “Re-Up,” which features Lil Wayne, Tyga and some of Minaj’s proteges.

“It sounds probably more hood in some ways, for a lack of a better word,” she said.

Her pop fans won’t be disappointed, though: There’s also the Dr. Luke-produced, dance-flavored “Va Va Voom.”

In a recent telephone interview, Minaj talked about her new music, artists she is mentoring and working (kind of) with Mariah Carey on “American Idol.”

Nicki Minaj Lashes Out At Mariah Carey On American Idol

Nicki Minaj derailed the “American Idol” auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina Tuesday, after swearing at Mariah Carey and threatening, “I’m gonna knock you out” … sources tell TMZ.

In the footage, obtained by TMZ, Nicki is clearly furious … shouting, “I told them I’m not f*ckin’ putting up with her f**kin’ highness over there.”

Sources say Nicki later threatened to “knock out” Mariah … but she said it before the video starts.

It all went down while the two were sitting at the judge’s table … with Keith Urban sitting in between them and Randy Jackson sitting on the far end, next to Mariah.

We’re told the whole thing exploded over a disagreement over a contestant’s performance.

Listen closely as you play the video … you’ll hear

Nicki Get this s**t in self control. Get in control. Get in control.
Randy Settle down, settle down.
Nicki Don’t lose your head. Don’t lose your head (inaudible). Don’t tell me I’m a gangster.
Nicki (inaudible) every 5 minutes. So every time you patronize me, I’m-ma take it back, and if you’ve got a f**king problem, handle it.
Nicki I told them I’m not f**kin’ putting up with her f**king highness over there. Figure it the f**k out. Figure it out.
Nicki I’m not gonna sit here every f**king minute to have you come down and harass me every minute everyday.

Mariah is talking back at Nicki but it’s hard to hear what she’s saying.

According to our friends at MouthToEars.com, producers ended the auditions for the day so the two judges could cool down. We’ve confirmed that happened.

Big wigs on the show seem uncharacteristically upset by the blow up. It seems producers are worried about Mariah and Nicki co-existing for the long haul. [TMZ]

Nicki Minaj Comes To Reality T.V.

After dominating the Hip-Hop & Pop music charts, launching her own fragrance and scoring a $12 million judging gig on “American Idol” … what else could Nicki Minaj possibly take on next?

Reality TV, apparently.

According to an exclusive report, the rapstress is working on a brand new reality show with the E! network — who is famous for its catalog of reality shows, most notably “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” (and its many spin-offs).

However, don’t expect a full-fledge, 10+ episode reality series from Nicki.

“The plan is to do specials with her, not a whole series,” a source close to the situation revealed, adding that E! will air three Minaj specials in the fall, and filming for the specials has already begun.

Nicki Minaj Introduces Pink Friday Perfume

Pound the alarm, fragrance fiends, because Pink Friday is in stores now.

The much-anticipated perfume comes packaged in a bottle shaped in the likeness of Minaj’s head and torso (would we expect anything less?), complete with pink wig, white bustier and gold nameplate chain. Looking like the playful spawn of a doll and an atomizer, it accurately reflects the singer’s colorful, quirkly fashion sense. The scent itself contains notes of fruit, vanilla and musk.

“I’ve been thinking about [a fragrance] for like, the last two years actually,” she told MTV News.

Named after Minaj’s 2010 album Pink Friday and its sequel, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, the fragrance joins Lady Gaga’s Fame as one of the higher-profile perfume launches this fall. “Pink Friday is a celebration of my life at this moment; it is a reflection of me as a creator, and an expression of me as a woman,” Minaj said in a press release. A “Moment 4 Life,” indeed.

Earlier this week, the wig-loving songstress debuted the scent at Macy’s Herald Square in New York dressed in a provocative ensemble as a sort of Barbie policewoman. Perhaps the newly minted American Idol judge is preparing for her upcoming role as an arbiter of vocal talent. But from Minaj, we’ve learned to expect nothing less.

After seeing the final product, Minaj declared, “My fans are going to spaz out when they see this.” For all of the “Barbz” out there—Minaj’s affectionate nickname for her followers, of which she counts 14 million on Twitter—the fragrance will be sold at Macy’s and other major department stores.
