Drake Comes For Meek Mill With A Vengance In ‘Back To Back’ Freestyle

Drake has fired another salvo in his feud with Meek Mill after that rapper called Drake’s “Charged Up” diss track “baby lotion soft.” Three days later, Drake has responded again with “Back to Back Freestyle,” and there’s nothing soft or vague about this diss track as the Toronto rapper lays into Meek Mill.

The cruelest barbs in “Back to Back Freestyle” come when Drake attempts to emasculate Meek Mill for serving as opening act for his girlfriend Nicki Minaj’s Pinkprint Tour. “You love her then you gotta give the world to her / Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?/ I know that you gotta be a thug for her / This ain’t what she meant when she told you to open up more,” Drake says. (Incidentally, Meek Mill showed up 90 minutes late and was promptly booed when the Pinkprint Tour hit Drake’s native Toronto Tuesday night.)

Drake then takes aim at Meek Mill’s decision to beef through social media. “Trigger fingers turn to Twitter fingers,” Drake raps. “You’re getting bodied by a singing nigga.” Drake then warns all his “boss bitches” – but likely Minaj especially – “make sure you hit him with a pre-nup.”

The feud between Drake and Meek Mill stems from Mill’s accusations that Drake employed a ghostwriter for his guest verse on “R.I.C.O.,” a track off Meek Mill’s new album Dreams Worth More Than Money. An Atlanta rapper named Quentin Miller was then identified as Drake’s ghostwriter, though Miller and Drake’s producer Noah “40” Shebib denied the ghostwriting allegations.

“When I look back, I might be mad that I gave this attention / But it’s weighing heavy on my conscience / And fuck, you left me with no options,” Drake says on the new track. “I’m not sure what it was that made y’all mad / But I guess this is what I gotta do to make y’all rap.”

Meek Mill previously shared his own Drake “diss track” titled “Beautiful Nightmare” which just featured 15 seconds of moaning.

Kanye West Disputes His No. 7 Ranking On MTV’s Hottest MCs List

When it comes to his standing in the rap world, Kanye West couldn’t help but sound off.

The Watch the Throne rapper called into New York’s Hot 97 radio station Tuesday night to dispute his No. 7 ranking on MTV’s “Hottest MCs” list, coming in behind artists Big Sean at No. 6 and Drake at No. 5.

And per MTV, unlike his recent outbursts at his European concerts, West kept his cool on this occasion and attributed his lower position to the fact that his new compilation, Cruel Summer, was greeted with tepid reviews at best.

“I feel like for them to put me at No. 7, they had to bring up things they didn’t like, like they didn’t like Cruel Summer album. And I’m, like, ‘That’s a compilation. It’s not all rappers on [it],” he said.

Kanye then name-checked all the CD’s hits—”Mercy,” “Cold,” “New God Flow” and “Clique”—as proof of its power, adding, “You can’t name five records like that on an album.”

While praising Big Sean, Kim Kardashian’s beau claimed that the media’s been against him these days because he’s not playing the part of the clean-cut rapper anymore.

“What happens with these type of things and the people that review it, when I come in and I have the pink polo and the backpack, I’m checking all the boxes of that A Tribe Called Quest era and all that, so they want to champion it,” he said. “They don’t like Givenchy Kanye. They don’t like Kanye in a kilt, they don’t like Kanye in a relationship.”

The G.O.O.D. Music CEO also asserted that his lyrical diss in “Cold” supposedly aimed at Kardashian’s estranged hubby, Kris Humphries, was easily the best bar of the year.

“Ain’t no bar of the past 12 months that’s hotter than that bar,” he said.

Of course, West is referring to the rhyme in which he said he could have had pal Jay-Z, a part owner of the New Jersey Nets, fire the NBA star at will (“Lucky I ain’t have Jay drop him from the team”).

Oh, Kanye.

Rick Ross Targeted In Alleged Drive-By Shooting, Rolls Royce Crashes Into Florida Apartment

While some still question the validity of the Florida drive-by involving Rick Ross, Fort Lauderdale police released an official statement confirming that the Maybach Music head was in fact driving the targeted Rolls Royce early Monday (January 28) morning.

The statement also reveals that Rozay’s 28-year old girlfriend, fashion designer Shateria L. Moragne-El was a passenger in the vehicle. According to the report, the shooting occurred at 5 a.m. near the intersection of Southwest 15th Avenue and East Las Olas Boulevard. Ross is reported to have heard multiple gunshots fired in his direction, lost control of his luxury car and crashed into an apartment building. There were no injuries and the suspects fled the scene; some media outlets are even reporting that the car miraculously wasn’t hit by any bullets.

Sunday night, the rapper was celebrating his birthday, which is actually Monday, at Club LIV in Miami. According to tweets from those in the MMG power circle, Diddy, Fabolous, French Montana and DJ Khaled were all in attendance. Ross himself hasn’t logged onto to the social networking site since the shooting but spent the better part of the night retweeting b-day messages from his flock.

While there seems to be genuine concern over the rapper’s well-being, rapper 50 Cent believes the shooting was staged. “Hahaha fat boy hit the building?lol it looks stage to me. No hole’s in da car,” he wrote on Instagram, captioning a pic of the crashed Rolls Royce.

Police have the incident listed as “an active and ongoing criminal investigation.” No word whether the shooting is in any way connected to the online threats that Ross received from the street gang known as the Gangsta Disciples back in December. Shortly after Rozay cancelled the remainder of his MMG Tour and while may speculated it was because of the threats, the rapper vehemently denied those reports. “I canceled the rest of the tour due to the promoter, he wasn’t really handlin’ his business,” he said during a radio interview on 99 Jamz in Miami late last year. “Never was it due to any threats.”

Kanye West Makes Good With Miami Paparazzi

Kanye West has made up with the paparazzi who asked him about Reggie Bush’s unborn child.

The Watch The Throne rapper was spotted hugging the female paparazzi who he previously attacked at a Miami restaurant two weeks ago, when KimYe had dinner across the street from Reggie Bush and his baby mother.

While Reggie made him mad that day, new rumors of a second sex tape with Reggie and Kim set to leak, might make him even more furious.

Turns out those rumors are absolutely false. Even though the rumor claims Kim is freaking out because it could ruin things with her and Yeezy, a rep tells sources the truth.

Drake Receives High School Diploma

The rapper (real name Aubrey Graham) recently fulfilled all his necessary school work to officially become a high school graduate.

“97% on my final exam. 88% in the course. One of the greatest feelings in my entire life. As of tonight I have graduated high school,” Drizzy tweeted. “Thank you to my teacher Kim Janzen for spending the last 5 months working tirelessly with me!! OVO SOUND,” he added.

Drake has been very open to the fact that he hadn’t received his high school diploma through his songs, like in his hit “Crew Love,” where he raps, “I guess we’ll never know what Harvard gets us/ But seeing my family have it all/ Took the place of that desire for diplomas on the wall.”

Clearly, something brought that desire back. Congratulations, Drake!
