Actor Thomas Mikal Ford has died after being placed on life support for a ruptured aneurysm in his abdomen.

The TV star — who portrayed Tommy Strawn on the 1990s sitcom “Martin” — died Wednesday at an Atlanta hospital, his rep confirmed.

“To all family and friends of Tommy Ford. We would like to inform everyone that our brother passed away today October 12, 2016 surrounded by his loving family,” his family posted on Instagram. “Please keep his family in your prayers as they go through this challenging time. He was so dearly loved by so many and for that lets all be grateful for a life well served.”

Ford, 52, was taken to the hospital on Sunday and his condition worsened after his arrival.

Ford earned a considerable following for his performance as the sensible best friend of the main character Martin, played by Martin Lawrence, on the beloved sitcom.

He also starred on other popular programs including “The Jamie Foxx Show” and “New York Undercover” and has written a series of children’s books endorsing the importance of avoiding drugs and violence.

“Empire” actor Malik Yoba, “227” starJackée Harry and other celebrities reached out to express their condolences.

Taraji P. Henson responds to 50 Cent “Empire” Comment

50 Cent Taraji P.

Just days after the season three premiere aired, the rapper took to Instagram where he shared a screenshot of Taraji P. Henson and a headline claiming Empire’s ratings were down.

“Well look at the bright side at least. You can eat your trophies,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram. “I was talking to old girl but you felt like you had to respond. SMH you know I love you cookie. I got a new show for you BMF COMING SOON !!!#EFFENVODKA.”

As it turns out, Taraji saw the message and decided to speak up with her own message.

“For the confused ppl. Do REAL research!!! Loose change makes sooooooo much UNNECESSARY NOISE,” she shared on Instagram Saturday afternoon. “STILL LOOKING FOR THAT DAMN CENT SIGN!!! I guess it’s obsolete. AGAIN CONGRATS ON YOUR SUCCESS BLACK MAN!!! @50cent.”

She later included a screengrab from a recent story that said Empire remains the No. 1 scripted show on broadcast TV.

Ultimately, 50 Cent wasn’t done just yet. After reading Taraji’s response, he went back to social media where the digs kept coming.

“All this back and forth s–t is starting to turning me on cookie, LMAO I ran into Lee Daniels at the gym on Sunset Blvd. he asked why I didn’t except his offer to be on EMPIRE. I told him I have a lot going on, I’m actually working on the show FOX is gonna replace EMPIRE with, he looked at me like…why the f–k are you doing that?” he wrote. “It’s because I’m a drug dealer, and I was taught to get in, get your weight up, then take over. So that’s the deal #EFFENVODKA #smsaudio #FRIGO.”

Reports have also circulated that Empire co-star Jussie Smollett may have joined in on the conversation. A post has surfaced on social media where the actor appears to respond to 50’s Cent’s original post.

“So here we go…I’ve always taken the high road when you’ve said our show was too gay, was stealing the word ‘power’ in our marketing from your show, or was too whatever you felt like saying at the moment,” he wrote in the now deleted post. “But now you’re messing with @TarajiPHenson.”

Speaking of Taraji, even though she has some disagreements with a certain Power star, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t support the cast especially Naturi Naughton.

“Sooooooooo proud of you @naturi4real I WANT YOU TO KNOW I will NEVER let any NEGATIVITY come between the LOVE I have for my sisters!!!” Taraji shared while supporting Power. “As women we put up with enough BS. I will NEVER add to that stress and heartache!!! YOU ARE DOPE on #Power and in life!!! #BlackGirlMagic SHINE BABY SHINE.”

Nicki Minaj Lashes Out At Mariah Carey On American Idol

Nicki Minaj derailed the “American Idol” auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina Tuesday, after swearing at Mariah Carey and threatening, “I’m gonna knock you out” … sources tell TMZ.

In the footage, obtained by TMZ, Nicki is clearly furious … shouting, “I told them I’m not f*ckin’ putting up with her f**kin’ highness over there.”

Sources say Nicki later threatened to “knock out” Mariah … but she said it before the video starts.

It all went down while the two were sitting at the judge’s table … with Keith Urban sitting in between them and Randy Jackson sitting on the far end, next to Mariah.

We’re told the whole thing exploded over a disagreement over a contestant’s performance.

Listen closely as you play the video … you’ll hear

Nicki Get this s**t in self control. Get in control. Get in control.
Randy Settle down, settle down.
Nicki Don’t lose your head. Don’t lose your head (inaudible). Don’t tell me I’m a gangster.
Nicki (inaudible) every 5 minutes. So every time you patronize me, I’m-ma take it back, and if you’ve got a f**king problem, handle it.
Nicki I told them I’m not f**kin’ putting up with her f**king highness over there. Figure it the f**k out. Figure it out.
Nicki I’m not gonna sit here every f**king minute to have you come down and harass me every minute everyday.

Mariah is talking back at Nicki but it’s hard to hear what she’s saying.

According to our friends at MouthToEars.com, producers ended the auditions for the day so the two judges could cool down. We’ve confirmed that happened.

Big wigs on the show seem uncharacteristically upset by the blow up. It seems producers are worried about Mariah and Nicki co-existing for the long haul. [TMZ]

First Look At New American Idol Judges

FOX announced Sunday that Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban were officially joining Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson as judges on American Idol. Shortly after that announcement, the show’s longtime host Ryan Seacrest shared the first shot of the brand-new foursome at the judges’ table via Facebook. “After some musical chairs, here’s how the new American Idol judges will be seated,” Seacrest, 37, wrote beneath a photo of Carey, 42, Urban, 44, Minaj, 29 and Jackson, 56, sitting down together (with Seacrest standing above) in midtown NYC.

“With the exciting addition of Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj, alongside Randy Jackson, American Idol’s star power has never been so great,” executive producer Simon Fuller said in a statement. With the addition of these new judges, this promises to be a very entertaining season!
