Brad Pitt Opens Up About ‘Wasted’ Years & Damaging Himself With Drugs

Brad Pitt is happier than he has ever been with Angelina Jolie and their close knit family and in a candid new interview he opens up about his drug-damaged life.

The World War Z star talks about his life in the June/July 2013 issue of Esquire, admitting that he damaged himself with drugs and lived a drifter life until about a decade ago, when he found true happiness with Jolie.

Yes, this interview may remind you of the time Jennifer Aniston — sick of Brad’s post-divorce comments — said her ex husband was missing a sensitivity chip!

“For a long time I thought I did too much damage – drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter,” he admitted to the men’s magazine. “A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired. I followed that other thing. I spent years [expletive] off. But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity.”

We’re guessing some people will think Brad is referring to those wasted years as part of the time he was with Jen.

Pitt, who announced he was divorcing Aniston in January 2005, managed to turn things around.

“It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany – a decision not to squander my opportunities. It was a feeling of get up. Because otherwise, what’s the point?”

Though his friends and family circle is small, he claims his life is better than ever.

“I have very few friends. I have a handful of close friends and I have my family and I haven’t known life to be any happier. I’m making things. I just haven’t known life to be any happier.”

Pitt, who met Jolie on the 2004 set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and started a family with her shortly after they were first snapped together on vacation in Kenya in April 2005, gushes over his brood.

“I always thought that if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big. I wanted there to be chaos in the house… there’s constant chatter in our house, whether it’s giggling or screaming or crying or banging,” he exclaimed.

“I love it. I love it. I love it. I hate it when they’re gone. I hate it. Maybe it’s nice to be in a hotel room for a day – ‘Oh, nice, I can finally read a paper.’ But then, by the next day, I miss that cacophony, all that life.”

Mariah Carey Refuses To Give Jennifer Lopez Standing Ovation On American Idol

Mariah Carey, she could not be moved. When former judge Jennifer Lopez delivered an energetic 10-minute performance on the season finale of American Idol on May 16, Carey kept a fixed smile on her face but refused to join the other three judges in giving Lopez a standing ovation. She played with the streamers and grinned straight ahead instead.

Earlier in the night, Carey took to the stage with a pre-recorded medley of her greatest hits, including “Vision of Love,” “Make It Happen,” “My All,” “Hero,” “We Belong Together,” and “#Beautiful,” but it was Lopez’s dance-infused performance that had the audience pumped.

To add fuel to the fire, rumors that the judge had lip-synched her performance began to circulate online shortly after her stiff performance in a feathered, beaded white gown.

“There are two type of artists Vocalists & performers,” one fan tweeted. “If you’re a vocalist, you should NOT lip-sync. Especially on the caliber of Mariah.”

Lopez’s own performance, on the other hand, was a rousing rendition of her dance hit “Live It Up,” which involved plenty of high-energy moves and an appearance by rapper Pitbull.

The pair have a history of controversy together that dates back to a time when Carey’s ex-husband Tommy Mottola gave material she’d selected for her Glitter soundtrack to Lopez after she’d left his label. Lopez, 43, was previously a judge on the hit Fox singing competition, and has been rumored to be returning to the judge’s table in an upcoming season as the Fox series struggles in the ratings.

“I don’t know!” Lopez said in response to TV Guide’s question about whether or not she was looking to return. “When I say, ‘I don’t know,’ people think, ‘Oh, she’s playing a game.’ I’m not. If it became really real where I had to make a decision, I would have to sit down and really weigh out the options of what my life looks like in the next year to see if I would sign.”

“Because it does take up a lot of time, and I do have a lot of other things going on that I’m super excited about,” she continued. “So we’ll see.”

If Lopez does decide to return, however, there’s one current judge who would be more than happy for the change.

“All dem #1s but Jlo phone ringin?” Nicki Minaj tweeted on May 2, in a nod to Carey’s diss that the “Roman Holiday” rapper had never had a No.1 Billboard hit. “I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that.”

Randy Jackson Leaving American Idol After 12 Seasons jackson

Dawg, he’s no longer in it to win it.

Randy Jackson, the musician and producer who has been a judge on American Idol since Season 1, says he will not be coming back to the panel for Season 13 next year.

“Yo! Yo! Yo!” he said in a statement released by his publicist. “To put all of the speculation to rest, after twelve years of judging on American Idol I have decided to leave after this season. I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”

The “speculation” he refers to is Idol’s drifting fortunes this season, with friction between panel-mates Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, and ratings down by more than 20% year over year. The situation has spurred conjecture and some unsourced reports that Fox is planning an overhaul for next spring’s cycle.

The Idol finale airs Thursday, May 16, 8 ET/PT on Fox.

Boston Marathon Bomber Charged Could Face Death Penalty

Surviving Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, has been charged with conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction against persons and property in the United States resulting in death, the U.S. attorney’s office confirmed on Monday.

Still seriously wounded and heavily sedated, the 19-year-old’s initial court appearance was conducted by a federal magistrate judge in his hospital room.

Tsarnaev also faces a charge of malicious destruction of property by means of an explosive device resulting in death, prosecutors said, and he could face the death penalty if convicted.

The decision to charge him in civilian court put an end to speculation that he would be charged as an enemy combatant, a designation sometimes used against terrorists, and White House spokesman Jay Carney said it was: “absolutely the right way to go and the appropriate way to go.”

As we previously reported, officials Thursday identified brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev as the suspects in the bombing that left three people dead and more than 130 people injured, some suffering the amputation of limbs.

On Thursday, the men shot at two officials, police said, as they killed a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer, and left a transit officer in serious condition at a local hospital.

Tamerlan, 26, died after a gun battle early Friday with police, and Dzhokhar, who fled from the battle and eluded a daylong manhunt, was spotted by a vigilant resident and captured Friday evening after a standoff in Watertown, Massachusetts, and is now at is now in the custody of the US Marshals Service at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

Kim Kardashian And Kris Humphries’ Divorce Finalized

A very pregnant Kim Kardashian looked triumphant as she left a Los Angeles courthouse on Friday, April 19, after the judge officially announced that her year-and-a-half divorce battle with ex Kris Humphries had come to an end.

“Yes, it’s done,” a source says. “They realized there was no fraud and the judge urged Kris to settle. Finally it’s over!”

Kardashian, 32, and Humphries officially announced their split after just 72 days of marriage in October 2011, and have been in a bitter court battle ever since. While Kardashian sought a clean divorce from the NBA player, Humphries instead filed for an annulment, claiming that Kardashian had committed fraud when she said “I do.”

Humphries, 28, dropped his demand for an annulment, and will not get a single penny from Kardashian, despite his previous request for $7 million from his estranged wife. Both parties will also pay for their own attorney’s fees, squashing reports that Kardashian might require Humphries to pony up for hers.

The Kourtney & Kim Take Miami star showed up on time for the proceedings Friday morning, and answered a few short questions from the judge, an eyewitness said.

When asked if irreconcilable differences led to the breakdown of the marriage, Kardashian responded yes. She denied that counseling would have helped the marriage.

Save for the court’s final sign-off on the judgment — which will need to happen before June 19 — Kardashian and Humphries are now officially divorced, just in time for the July arrival of Kardashian’s baby with boyfriend Kanye West.

Humphries was not present for Friday’s hearing, despite court orders. He was also absent from an Apr. 12 settlement hearing that was meant to keep the case from going to trial.

“[Kris is] just wasting everyone’s time at this point … The judge is furious. So disrespectful,” a source said of Humphries’ previous absence. “Kim showed up pregnant!”

And there are other things that haven’t quite worked out in Humphries’ favor either. Earlier this month, the Brooklyn Nets player demanded that he have access to several emails his estranged wife had sent him from closed accounts. The judge denied his request on Apr. 15, just days after he was a no-show in court.

Luckily for Humphries, however, the judge has ruled his failure to appear in court “irrelevant” now that the case is settled. The athlete was previously set to be hit with fines for failing to show up to several court-ordered appearances.

Boston Marathon Explosion

Two explosions shattered the euphoria of the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday, sending authorities out on the course to carry off the injured while the stragglers in the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton were rerouted away from the smoking site of the blasts.

Competitors and race organizers were crying as they fled the chaos. Bloody spectators were being carried to the medical tent that had been set up to care for fatigued runners.

“There are a lot of people down,” said one man, whose bib No. 17528 identified him as Frank Deruyter of North Carolina. He was not injured, but marathon workers were carrying one woman, who did not appear to be a runner, to the medical area as blood gushed from her leg. A Boston police officer was wheeled from the course with a leg injury that was bleeding.

About three hours after the winners crossed the line, there was a loud explosion on the north side of Boylston Street, just before the photo bridge that marks the finish line. Another thunderous explosion could be heard a few seconds later.

Runner Laura McLean of Toronto said she heard two explosions outside the medical tent.

“There are people who are really, really bloody,” McLean said. “They were pulling them into the medical tent.”

Cherie Falgoust was waiting for her husband, who was running the race.

“I was expecting my husband any minute,” she said. “I don’t know what this building is … it just blew. Just a big bomb, a loud boom, and then glass everywhere. Something hit my head. I don’t know what it was. I just ducked.”

Judge Rules No Cameras Allowed In Kardashian Divorce Trial Courtroom

Judge Scott Gordon has denied a motion to allow cameras in the courtroom for Kim and Kris Humphries divorce trial.

Kim was adamantly opposed to having her divorce trial televised but numerous media outlets wanted to broadcast it.

The trial is slated to begin May 6. Humphries wants an annulment on grounds of fraud, which Kim denies. It is likely Kim will still be married to the NBA player when she gives birth to Kanye West’s baby.

Kim was in court on Friday but Kris was not, which irked the judge. No settlement was reached and sources tell Radar it does not appear this matter will be resolved before trial.

Ray J Taunts Kanye West In New Single, ‘I Hit It First’

Ray J is set to release new single taking a jab at fellow singer Kanye West, who now dates his ex, Kim Kardashian.

The R&B singer who infamously filmed a sex tape in 2007 with the now reality superstar Kardashian, announced Friday he is dropping a new track April 9 entitled “I Hit It First.”

Ray J tweeted the new cover art to fans Friday first pointed out by Global Grind to be a blurred out bikini pic of Kardashian from 2008 and also possibly mimicking Kanye West’s blurred artwork on “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”

“Check out my new single cover “I Hit It first” available on ITUNES on 4/9 “I Put her On” #KOmusic,” he wrote.

According to lyrics obtained by TMZ, some of the choice words allude to the fact that he is singing about his former flame, who is now pregnant with West’s baby and whose exes include NFL player Reggie Bush and soon-to-be ex-husband NBA star Kris Humphries.

“She might move on to rappers and ballplayers but we all know I hit it first … But now baby chose to go West,” the gossip site reported as some of the lyrics of the ballad.

“Ray J is making a music video featuring a Kim look-alike,” according to a source.
